PRINT DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Job Requirements

       Job Summary

  • Advanced Innovative Technologies (AIT) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Print Department Manager to operate and manage our Fabric Frame / dye-sublimation graphics production department.

  • This is a hands-on working manager position. The Print Department Manager will currently be the primary dedicated employee responsible for running the department, with assistance from other AIT employees when needed. The position is responsible for moving graphics projects through the complete production process—from artwork preparation and large-format printing through heat transfer, cutting, sewing, quality control, and packing.

  • As the department grows, the goal is for the Print Department Manager to lead and train additional Fabric Graphic Finishers

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily workflow of AIT's Print / Fabric Graphics Department and maintain awareness of active job status and production priorities.

  • Prepare and review production artwork using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Prepare files for production using RIP software and verify dimensions, orientation, bleed, and job specifications.

  • Operate an HP Stitch large-format dye-sublimation printer and monitor print quality and color consistency.

  • Operate a Transmatic/AIT heat calendar press for dye-sublimation heat transfer.

  • Measure and cut fabric graphics using production cutting equipment, including a Roto Cutter and Hot Knife.

  • Operate an industrial sewing machine to apply silicone edging to SEG graphics.

  • Fit completed graphics into frames and perform quality-control inspections for dimensions, tension, seams, corners, appearance, and defects.

  • Package and prepare completed graphics for shipment.

  • Communicate job status and workflow with the Customer Service Manager and coordinate shipping, logistics, and customer-related requirements with the appropriate AIT team members.

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe production department.

  • Monitor department materials and supplies and communicate inventory or equipment needs.

  • Identify production problems, equipment issues, or quality concerns and communicate them before they affect job completion.

  • Train and direct additional department employees as the Print Department grows.

    Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in large-format printing, signs and graphics, dye-sublimation, textile/fabric production, manufacturing, or a related production environment preferred.

  • Working proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop preferred.

  • Experience with RIP software preferred.

  • Large-format printing and/or dye-sublimation experience is highly desirable.

  • Strong computer and technical aptitude.

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and follow job dimensions and production specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple production jobs independently.

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn and operate production equipment.

  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Previous supervisory experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the ability and desire to take ownership of the department and grow into leading additional employees.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the production area for extended periods.

  • Ability to regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, and handle production materials.

  • Comfortable working hands-on around printing, heat-transfer, cutting, and sewing equipment.

    Schedule & Compensation

  • Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience
    Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
    Location: Ball Ground, GA
    Job Type: Full-Time
    Work Location: In person
